Elko Gold Rush Challenge

The Gold Rush Challenge is back for their 4th round of bull riding challenges. This year’s Western States Bucking Bull Association (WSBBA) event in collaboration with the Benavides Bucking Bull LLC is set to take Elko, Nevada by its horns on September 8-9, 2023.

The Gold Rush Challenge continues to be a loyal affiliate of the WSBBA and is excited to continue to provide its affordable competition events for stock contractors and bull-riders in the western states. It is with great gratitude that we share our own successes. Three of our bulls have reached elite levels and has put our beloved hometown of Elko on the map while debuting in the nationally televised CBS event Professional Bull Riders (PBR) since 2020.

The Benavides Bucking Bulls boys, Efren Benavides and Anthony Sandoval, continue to create opportunities to support the community of Elko. Whether its sponsoring local children’s sports teams, donating to scholarships, offering in-person practice opportunities for aspiring rodeo athletes or fostering economic growth through vendor opportunities at the events, the Benavides Bucking Bulls team is eager to step up and offer a supportive hand.

The Benavides Bucking Bulls’ Gold Rush Challenge, with the support of the WSBBA, provide opportunities for contractors, bull riders, and bulls from California, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah, to win authentic buckles, showcase their athleticism and talent. With much pride, their events have given aspiring cowboys and cowgirls of all ages the spotlight to strut their stuff in the all-time crowd favorite events such as mutton busting and bull riding.

This year’s event will include its typical bull riding events, as well as a pre-party at Stockmen’s Inn & Casino on September 8, 2023, where our sponsors, bull riders, and contractors will receive recognition for their relentless support.
